Cypress Point Community Groups are an integral part of what we do as a church family.  We believe that sustained life change occurs was we are growing in a relationship with Christ. This happens best when we are prioritizing intentional relationships with others who are seeking this same goal.  Community Groups provide people with the opportunity to connect with others, grow in their relationship with Christ, experience community and do life together.

Groups will meet weekly for 3 months.

Week 1: Circle Up

Getting your group off to a great start!

Week 2-7: I Said This, You Heard That

One of the easiest topics to talk about... you!

Identify your temperament and learn how that affects your communication with others.

Week 8: Social or Service Project

Connect with your group!

Week 9-12: If Money Talked

Yes, it's tricky in times like these to talk about money. But we're convinced that's exactly why we should be talking about it. Money - especially in moments of crisis - is one of the most powerful ways people learn how to follow Jesus.  And we promise this study/s approach avoids the awkwardness. You may even laugh once or twice.

  • Hey y'all! Max & Mary here & we are so excited to lead a community group. As Christians we're to follow Jesus' example, & two of these examples apply specifically to why we want to lead a community group. Jesus loved big & had his twelve disciples with him always. To love each other as Christ loves us we've got to be connected more than waving to each other at church or liking social media posts. So come on over (or hop in the zoom) Sunday nights and let's be friends!

    When: Sundays, 7:30 p.m.

    Format: Virtual & in person

    For: Everyone

  • We think small groups are an important way to nurture relationships at Cypress Point and encourage spiritual growth.

    -Russ & Tammy

    We have found that one of the best ways to strengthen and grow our walk with Jesus is by connecting with each other and building our faith through a community group. We discuss the message each week, and then take a deep dive into Bible study. We have found the relationships with others in our group to be meaningful and fun. We thoroughly enjoy the friendship, the support the connections, the stories, and the inspiration that each of our group members bring to the table.

  • I wanted to get to know the members of our church better and the Community Group connected Bill and I in a deep, spiritual way. As we gathered together each week we shared our lives, prayed and grew in the word of God. We have developed a strong bond and lifelong friendships.

    -Jenny Reiber

    As a group we can support, encourage, love and learn from each other. Joining a community group last year, I felt intimidated - would I be accepted? All I can say is that I found a new family. Now I have the opportunity to serve that family (and any new members) in a new role as facilitator and I am thrilled to do so. We want to support each other and grow together.

    -Janet Hall

    When: Mondays, 7 p.m.

    Format: Virtual & in person

    For: Everyone

  • Why am I a community group leader? Wow! To be part of something! Part of a group that has fun together, grows their faith together, and that's there for each other through the good the bad and the ugly. Community Groups are amazing and something I definitely want to be a part of. I am looking forward to see what God's going to do with this group.

    When: Tuesdays, 7 p.m.

    Format: Virtual & in person

    For: Everyone

  • "Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:25 NASB. Let's continue the fellowship, encouragement, and support. For me being a community group leader means being connected to Christ, fellow believers, and following God's word.

    When: Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.

    Format: Virtual

    For: Everyone

  • Here at CPC, we found a wonderful community that inspired us to grow in our faith. We have served on various teams, but the challenges of life forced us to seek a stronger, more intimate, support network. It was through the work of our Community Group that we were able to keep God at the center of our marriage and in the forefront of our focus. After all the love and support that we were blessed with here, we want to pay forward and maintain these groups in the hope that they help others just as much.

    When: Wednesdays, 7 p.m.

    Format: Virtual & in person

    For: Couples

  • You never know what life is going to bring your way. Over the last year and a half, our group has shared some of life's greatest joys and dealt with some of life's greatest hardships. As one of the smallest groups we've still experienced: babies born, lost loved ones, sickness, 3 families move, our kids graduate high school and some of our members graduate college and of course been quarantined. Through it all, there has never been a question that we could share our greatest victories and our deepest sorrows. I don't know how, who or what we would have done without the church leaving the building and being there right alongside us.

    When: Wednesdays, 6 p.m.

    Format: Virtual

    For: Everyone

  • We chose to become Community Group leaders because we want to build friendships and to provide a comfortable atmosphere for openness.

    When: Thursdays, 7 p.m.

    Format: Virtual

    For: Everyone

  • I am involved and lead a community group because I think they are vital to growing as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

    Being active in a community group is important for several reasons...

    * Fellowship

    * Discipleship

    * Encouragement

    Some of my closest friendships over the years have started in groups like our Community Groups at CPC.

    -Russ Adams

    I chose to lead a community group because I wanted to get to know men from MANUP on a more personal level. I also wanted to provide a small group for men to help sharpen other men.

    -Tim Bowers

    When: Saturdays, 8 a.m.

    Format: Virtual & in person

    For: Men

    *Co-Leaders: Russ Adams with Tim Bowers
